June fishing is all about tarpon and snook. Both tarpon and snook are on the beaches in large numbers through the month of June. We have been catching plenty of big tarpon in the 100 pound range in the morning and afternoon on the beaches and in the passes on live blue crabs and threadfin. These acrobatic hard pullers will test the strength and stamina of even the most experienced angler when hooked up to one. We have also caught cobia, grouper (gags and red), and sharks as by catch when tarpon fishing. The snook are showing up all over the beaches and in the passes with the arrival of this warm summer time water. Live white bait is the bait of choice when fishing for them. Look in the troughs along the shorelines of the beach and on the edges of sandbars when targeting these fish. Once you find a area where there seem to be fish holding try to get a quiet approach and set up on them by either drifting or slowly easing in on a trolling motor. We are fishing these fish with 10# main line and a 20# fluorocarbon leader and a 1/0 Owner mutu light circle hook. Fishing like this will remain strong through the whole month of June so dont miss your chance and give me a call today to book your trip!
